Trump didn’t say that, but he shouldn’t have said that.
He should have been more clear. He must know by now that if anything he says can be twisted around they will do it.
It really doesn’t make any difference in that respect… They are going to twist what Trump says into something reprehensible, or they are simply going to lie out right about it.
Until there are ramifications, they will not change.
They will treat Pence with deference and respect, unless he were to obtain the nomination, in which case they will treat him as they treat Trump.
Same for DeSantis.
