All self-inflicted.

If you’ve ever traveled through any of Europe’s alpine areas, there’s no doubt in your mind that the Europeans know how to build superior infrastructure — when they choose to.

Truly. Drive through Switzerland or Austria. All the tunneling and bridging it's impressive.

This isn’t going to end well, particularly for the “elites”.

Swiss Prepare to Spend the Winter Bored, Cold, and Trapped at Home

Biden and democrats should be joining the Swiss to see what living without oil and coal and natural gas feels like.

There must be a way to selectively turn off AC and heat on democrat households, and deprive them of fuel for their vehicles.

That is weird. Here in Alaska, we have a large dam that runs all year round. No problems.

Been living in Italy and Poland the past 2 months. Not seeing much evidence of suffering or even energy conservation: every airport and train station I go through in winter is the same stuffy edifice heated to tropical temperatures I remember.

The main difference I see that the price of gasoline in Poland is only slightly above what I was paying in the big US city I left.

....last time I checked, the Swiss elect their public officials to decide matters of this magnitude (electrical power).

So, let’s all cheer for the dumb bastards shivering under blankets and locked up at home!

If you have to be bored and cold and at home, you might as well be in Switzerland munching Chocolate. Or would you rather be in Boston?

Thank senile Joes sanctions, weaponizing the USD and spreading the Russian Derangement Syndrome-he destroyed world trade, caused untold suffering and pain…..and yes I have been all over the EU- the EU long standing saying : when shaking hands with a Ukrainian, check how many fingers he stole”, ….the population of the EU knows this, but Americans obviously do not- but they are waking up…..and learning anything senile Joe supports leads to destruction.

Yes, it is.

The Swiss never kept their homes and apartments as warm as we do, at least back when I lived there (and subsequent visits). Every morning the bedroom windows are opened and the thick feather duvets hung across the windowsills to air for awhile and allow fresh air in, no matter how cold or snowy. Schools, offices, shopping venues, etc., were also cooler in winter than here. Restaurants tended to be warm, though.

The Swiss are stoic. And cunning. They’ll do fine.

So, basically, they’ll be pretty much like their ancestors. The reason Switzerland became the center of the watch-making world is that some smart fellow got the idea of having bored swiss stuck in their cabins make clock parts. A given family might make a particular gear, and would do not much more than that all winter long.

Instead, the government has decided to eliminate nuclear power altogether.

I know we're all tempted to think of them as idiots.

But they're not stupid. They're evil. They know perfectly damned well that their plans and policies are destructive and they do it anyway.

My old farmhouse never gets to 68 in the winter. Usually high 50’s or low 60’s, even with the wood stove. Don’t know what they are complaining about...
