Is it a crime to damage someone else’s property? and if done by multiple people across state lines is that not a conspiracy to commit a crime subject to federal prosecution?

I mean, if you are going to charge Jan 6th protestors with seditious conspiracy, you have to charge these protestors with criminal conspiracy.
