To the surprise of many, the lower courts are following the clear directions on how to decide Second Amendment cases, as given by Justice Clarence Thomas in the Bruen decision on June 22 this year.

Ca has a similar law that also needs to be looked at. You are only allow to carry on private property if you are “behind a barrier”. Meaning you have to be in a building or behind a wall or fence.

Only a few days after the Bruen decision the NY State legislature enacted a multitude of laws intended to show that legislature's contempt for the 2nd Amendment *and* for the Supreme Court. That's the basic strategy of states that hold the 2nd Amendment in contempt...pass dozens, hundreds,of laws which, when considered together, horribly infringe upon the constitutional rights of decent, law abiding, citizens.
They do it knowing that it will take a long, long time for the courts to overturn them...and,once overturned, they're ready with 50 *more* laws intended to deny basic rights.

Seems the onky right being upheld by the courts is the 2nd amendment.

I’m glad to see the skeptics wrong who said it would take years for these post-Bruen cases to be decided. NYS needs to take the hint and stop with the legislative temper tantrums.

I'll say it again. Thomas did a damn fine job with Bruen. Didn't go quite as far as I'd like (I'd pretty much strike the entirety of ยง922), but he's getting more mileage out of it than I initially thought he would.
