Disparity Doesn’t Necessarily Imply Racism. Today it’s more often the result of skills gaps than discrimination. That’s something every black student needs to know.

The NBA is not 95% black. It’s closer to 80% because of all the talent from European countries.

The disparity is because of shitty inner city schools.

Nahhhhh, it’s regression... Lol
They want to be African in America and not integrate to enjoy the world of opportunity and progess that the history and heritage it has offered

Then again we are point at the failings of LBJ and his great social engineering in his great society. This is what government intervention has spawned.

It’s just like the great reset, another failure out of the gate.

Amazing news! People fail because they are incompetent or lazy!! So they no longer have the right to blame Whitey for their failures! Any chance that will happen?

The median black IQ being 15 points lower than the median white IQ may have a lot to do with it.

Very few people are willing to face the screaming that happens at the suggestion that the gap may be from genetic factors.

Here's a woman with a 153 IQ. Would you hire her?

Her grammar needs work. She has a work history, and has a cute profile pic. I would say she has a low probability of punching out customers, so yes I would probably hire for customer -facing jobs.

Roland Fryer is black. That may be why he is allowed to say these things. He is a Professor of Economics at Harvard University and a recipient of a MacArthur “Genius” Award. His wife, who is Austrian, also has a Ph.D. and is the daughter of a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Vienna.

She's the mother of the Club Q killer. She has a troubled past herself, including an arrest record. Her high IQ (if real) hasn't made her successful in life.

Same goes for every high-IQ individual I've ever known personally. A test score might help, up to a point, but other personal qualities are better predictors of success.

And statistics are always questionable, whether on a wage gap, IQ, or anything else. Take it all with a grain of salt. Better yet, ignore it all.

A study from a few years ago showed that children who were raised with more books in their home were more successful than children who were raised with fewer books in the home even when those children were, in all other factors, identical.

They did not even have to be "good books" such as good non fiction or classical literature. Trashy novels still counted.

But magazines did not count. Even if it was National Geographic or Physics Today.

Reading helps develop internal imaging, IOW picturing what’s going on for example. There are neural pathways that don’t develop with videos, including feedback loops of what written language should sound like. As well as thinking about characterization, plot (thesis & catharsis), time & place, etc.

Interesting.

Certainly the act of reading changes the way you think.

Do you think that the magazines did not count because they had pictures or because their articles were too short or for some other reason?

I do think that partly it is because you generally do not read a book in one setting. You often take a couple of days or a week to read a book and you have to retain the basics of the story until you finish.

Articles are generally read in less then an hour and then you can forget about it.

Not sure why magazines wouldn’t count. Mom always said reading comic books and Mad Magazine would rot my brain. She was probably right. :)
