Agree completely. Even the "Little Ice Age" was very difficult and another would be difficult. The reason the highest yields for many crops are in AZ and the hot interior valleys of California is that most crops do better or well enough in heat and appreciate precise watering and full sun. A few like hops do poorly in heat. But very few crops can survive summer freezes.

Good point, and the added CO2 is more plant food, resulting in larger crop yields.

This extended cool spell overlapped with a period of extreme solar inactivity known as the Maunder Minimum (1645-1715). The River Thames used to freeze over every winter and ice skating was in. BTW, the Thames froze over in Feb. 2021, the first time in 60 years. Must be global warming.
