Newly elected House GOP member George Santos says Hunter Biden probe shouldn’t be a ‘priority’

Rep.-elect George Santos (R-NY) argued on Monday that lawmakers should avoid focusing on “hyperpartisan” investigations, including a potential probe into Hunter Biden’s business dealings, for at least the first six months of the new Congress.

Santos told Fox News’s Sandra Smith on Monday that he wants no part of divisive investigations into the president’s son, the origins of COVID-19, Big Tech censorship, the FBI’s raid of Mar-a-Lago, the Justice Department’s memo on outspoken parents at school board meetings, or the crisis at the southern border.

Instead, Santos said that he wants to focus on issues such as energy independence and crime.

“If parts of our party want to go into these investigations, that’s their prerogative,” Santos said. “I don’t want to waste my time in Washington engaging in hyperpartisan issues. I want to come here to deliver results.”

“We can be part of investigations so long as it doesn’t clutter and sway us from the goal, which is making Americans’ lives better or not worse,” Santos added.

Another just-what-we-needed, a RINO scumbag.

I certainly got a good chuckle out of that one.
Of course, that coffee may have ruined the keyboard.

Understand that the Uniparty effed with the Republican primaries to deny MAGA seats. This guy sounds like a closet RINO, and he hasn’t even taken the oath of office yet.

Different committees should be doing relevant work. Biden must be removed from office & the way to do that is thru Hunter. Probably a special committee should be set up for this purpose.

I agree.

Lead with Border, Energy, Crime, Elections.

Biden WILL pardon Hunter anyway.

I agree with him for different reasons. Any investigation will just be a dog and pony show with no real results, no punishment. The media will ignore and misreport any findings.

Might be better to focus on something they can accomplish. Maybe they can “work across the aisle” and make being a Republican illegal?

I think energy independence and crime would be two great issues and might attract some people to give the GOP a second look.

The border issue, especially in connection with drugs, could be a winner too, even in places far from the border which don’t feel the effects very much. (I guess we’re better off than the Brits, who are being overwhelmed by boatloads of Albanians!)

The Hunter Biden investigation will be done, I’m sure of it, if we can get new leadership and quietly continue the legal stuff in the background.

But to attract support to do this in the first place, you have to focus on the real, day-to-day concerns of people.

And I’d say fuel/energy supply and crime are at the top of the list.

Biden WILL pardon Hunter anyway.

Depends on what evidence is uncovered of the big guy's complicity.

Likely Hunter was the tool for the big guy.

Making a case against Biden & Son should show Americans they need to stop listening to the media. I know most people ignore the media or have a low opinion of it, but it needs to be brought home how much they lied for the Dems.

As for all the other things the need to be done. Can anything they do get past the senate? Everything will be a dog & pony show. Until the gutless R’s fold like they usually do & life goes on as it always has.

I am for investigating Hunter Biden, but I can see where this guy is coming from. The constant war among the political class about each other is one reason why nothing gets done on much more vital issues.
