The International Brotherhood of Boilermakers (IBB) announced Monday its members voted against ratifying a tentative agreement with the major freight railroads, making IBB the third labor group to turn down the deal brokered by the Biden administration and upping the chances of a nationwide strike.
The IBB said in a statement that it has now entered a "cooling off" period and plans to continue to negotiate further with the National Carriers' Conference Committee (NCCC), which represents the nation's largest railroads, including BNSF, CSX, Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific.
IBB joins the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen (BRS) and the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (BMWED) in rejecting the proposed contracts providing rail workers a 24% wage increase during the five-year period from 2020 through 2024.

Biden delayed this earlier in the year to get past the election but all four major unions will have rejected contracts it’s expected in early December.
Then we are set to strike.
Good gracious... back in the aleutians during the 70s, woke up with more than a few boilermakers nagging at my brain...
Still time to prep.
And there are starting to be good holiday sales.
Yup. I don’t need anything from china.
PING!
We don’t need much of anything except for some food.
Thrift stores like Salvation Army can be great places to find things one needs.
Indeed.
Turkey sales around here have been fantastic. .49/pound for Jenny-O and .97/pound for Butterballs.
Should be good sales on baking supplies/staples. Still planning an ALDI-run for later in the month.
Student Loan Relief
Codify Roe federally
Settle the railway union dispute.
Chumps.
Did anyone mention his Bitcoin Buddy?
BidenDepression II.
“Thrift stores like Salvation Army can be great places to find things one needs.”
A BFF of mine, who loves to ‘thrift’ as much as I do, would do a ‘Ten Dollar Christmas’ with me.
We’d spend $10 on each other, but all items had to come from a thrift store, estate sale or garage sale.
It was great fun. :) One year I bought her $9.86 worth of really great stuff* and gave her .14 cents in change, LOL!
*Artwork, pottery, a lovely silk scarf, a hand-beaded purse, etc.
Loss leaders shouldn’t be confused with lower prices. A gallon of milk was $4.25 today. A 2 pound bag of flour was $4.99. An eight ounce bag of coffee beans was $7.00. I passed on butter and eggs. Too expensive.
I think I’m going to get a freshened dairy goat and a few Rhode Island Reds. I’ve got an overgrown abandoned one acre lot behind me that a goat and chickens would feed on nicely in exchange for milk and eggs. It’s land locked with no access right of way so nobody will raise a ruckus about it.
I hope they shut it DOWN!!!
The more misery that is brought upon the cities in this country the better.
Shut it down boys!
It isn’t all about the money - on call 24/7, no predictability on when you work, can’t plan doctor appointments, attend planned family events or even family emergencies without being penalized in attendance. BNSF has a 30 point system, you lose too many points for sickness/family emergencies (including deaths) you are disciplined or fired. Earning points back is difficult, losing them is easy. Not knowing when you work, away from home all the time, etc. leads to stress then alcohol or drug addiction, or stress related illness.
The time to go on strike is now. Stores are already putting out their early Christmas stuff.
100% agree.
We can stay home and comfy for a few months.
So eff em. Let them sons a bitches find out in the cities what its like to have nothing on the selves for their dinner at night.
Somehow they will still blame Trump and the republicans for all the pain that is about to come. It will take these hard time to make some strong Americans.
