Prominent Pollster Scott Rasmussen Says Time for America to Mandate All Ballots Be Counted on Election Day
Foreign Desk via Just the News ^ | 11/11/2022

With states like Arizona, Nevada and Alaska taking days to determine midterm election results, influential pollster Scott Rasmussen says there is overwhelming support for America to mandate ballots be in and counted by Election Day.

“One of the 80% issues, and there aren’t a whole lot of 80% issues in America-one of them is that all ballots should be in by Election Day,” Scott Rasmussen said Wednesday night on the “Just the News, No Noise” TV show. “We should know the results on Election Day.”

Such a new mandate would make it nearly impossible to have a system like ranked-choice voting, which is how Alaska conducts its elections. Ranked-choice voting is “an alternative voting system that allows voters to rank multiple candidates on a ballot in order of preference.” As a result of this system, Alaskans won’t find out results of their midterm for a few weeks.

“I think that system, in theory sounds fine, but voters are really uncomfortable with it,” Rasmussen explained.

“Alaska is five hours behind us or whatever, but not not three weeks,” he said. “I think this is something we’re going to have to address. through the political process. For example, when you lose the Super Bowl, you lose. You don’t keep stretching it out for a few more games. That’s what has happened in the country today. If you’re talking about reforms that really have strong support, they are things like photo ID and getting the ballots in by Election Day.”

While some Republicans were hoping for a big red wave, it was more of a red ripple with the GOP predicted to take the House but the Senate uncertain with a runoff in Georgia slated for next month.

Rasmussen said governors such as Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis really pulled through wins because of how they governed during COVID.

“The pandemic impact on this race was Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott,” Rasmussen said. “They did very, very well, because of their pandemic policies. Governors like Whitmer and Hochul did much more poorly than they might have expected because of their pandemic policy. The way you govern does make a big difference.”

As of now, Georgia is going to go into a runoff for the Senate while other Senate and Gubernatorial races in Arizona and Nevada are still too close to call.

My mother worked as a GOP poll-watcher and canvasser in NY for nearly 50 years - from the 1940s into the late 1980s

She was always home by 11 PM, and we would watch returns from West Coast together on TV

Point is - America USED TO count ballots and report results within hours on election day. No one of any party would have accepted otherwise.

NOW we have an ad hoc, manipulated system designed for fraud.

Ever notice how people on the left love to use the expression “It’s time to...” ?

Like they’re the adults in the room, here to make us eat our peas.

In 1932, everybody knew FDR was elected by 11PM EST, in a country without internet, cell phones, computers, TV, mostly without radio, and racked by depression.

How does ranked choice voting take weeks? It is a list of names with fill in circles for first through fifth on each line (for US House). Scan them in, accumulate a list of a few hundred thousand rankings and run through them in a minute. The scanning of the ballots takes far longer than the computerized counting. They aren’t hand counting them or running them on a tape drive/vacuum tube computer from the fifties

Third World countries run their elections better than we do.

Paper ballots = same day results.
Computerized ballots = late results + fraud

If computerization is faster, why are results later. The answer is that fraudsters are not computer-savvy yet.

Someone pointed out the other day that in 2020 when Trump was leading big in PA it took almost a week to count all the ballots and declare Biden the winner. In 2022, however, when Shapiro won big and Fetterman was declared the winner early Wednesday morning there was no call for a need to keep counting until the weekend. It seems when the democrats win, PA and MI are quite capable of getting their counting done on time. I wonder why that is?

For example, when you lose the Super Bowl, you lose. You don’t keep stretching it out for a few more games.

You also don't have 14 points showing up on the scoreboard during halftime when the teams and the refs are in their locker rooms.

True. I’ve supervised elections in Third World and war-torn countries. We had the votes counted within hours (by hand, with international monitors and local party agents observing — everything transparent).

France is hardly perfect, but there’s much to be admired about their electoral system. Election Day. Paper ballots. Full transparency. Hand counting of ballots. No waiting, no cheating.

The counting has slowed to a crawl. The results will trickle out, one every couple of days, with Dems winning by a very slim margin. They may even let a couple of Rs win once their victory is secured so the legacy media can spin a tale about how they won fair and square and still keep a straight face.

The GOP doesn't fight it and when pressed as in 2020 they defend it. So they are in on it.

They would need to sweep every seat just to get to 218.

“If computerization is faster, why are results later. The answer is that fraudsters are not computer-savvy yet.”

The answer is that it takes time to analyse and determine what is needed to win and then manufacture it.

As Americans, we need to get this on the ballot as a ballot measure and a constitutional amendment.

Just a thought for those techies out there. You have a SS number. You are in one of many government databases. On election day you vote. Your SS number gets matched up against an election database. You are approved. You vote. That SS number can no longer be used for the current election. If it is, a flag goes up and your ballot is pulled.

I think that’s all we need to ensure a fair election. Minus dead people of course.

Makes too much sense, which means it won’t happen.

I think we may just have to fight fire with fire. Republicans need to start bundling mail-in votes and dropping them at the 11th hour. It will complicate the calculation for Democrat electioneers. We lack the political muscle in the Blue states to rollback vote by mail.

Maybe if we win a few stunners using these tactics they’ll come to their senses about going back to in-person voting.

One person should never be allowed to bring in 100-200 votes. No more ballot harvesting. Vote in person.
