Great !
For the bargain price of only 3 gazillion dollars, folks can travel rapidly from one sewer to another !
Biden’s a fool and a glutton for being buttered up. Doesn’t get much more disgusting than that...
Another Biden Crime Family get rich quick scheme.
Dual mode is most likely like the Long Island railroad uses for trips past electric territory.
That is the old Delaware Lackawanna & Western line which is precisely what they are proposing, but not in a high-speed mode. Check Post #16 for the reason why New Jersey Transit wants to do this project.
While Biden is talking about high-speed mode, he is talking out of his hat. New Jersey Transit is rebuilding this line in normal-speed mode — provided it can get money from PennDOT and the Feds to do it.
i believe that there is (at least) a plan to extend HSR from Bakersfield to Palmdale to Burbank...Well that study didn't take long to figure out.< /sarcasm >
If you've ever gone over the Tehachapi Pass there are some sections where you can see the front of a train following the back of the train at the same time going around the mountain.
I wasn’t being totally serious and know that there are ways of modernizing electric power rail systems.
What if their success means a lot of extra power is required as more rail systems adopt it-——would the Northeast states have rolling blackouts like Newsom’s Golden State? “Commuters may be stranded today as an unscheduled blackout will not allow electric rail travelers to return to their destinations. Tent cities will be used on sidewalks for the commuters. Cold sandwiches and coffee will be provided at low cost.
Would not take billions, but the politicians want to waste billions on it.
And frankly, potential passengers would not want a train to stop in every town.
The highway has done enough to make the state bluer, but not so blue as to make rampant fraud unnecessary to the totalitarians.
