No, he wouldn't. Trump wants personal loyalty but doesn't handle the ups and downs of relationships very well. That might work in New York business, but not in national politics.

It seems the same pattern (on a larger scale) as that of a lot of successful businessmen.

Trump values loyalty to him personally too highly. It’s a great trait when you are winning, it is a disaster when you are not.

More than one brilliant and powerful person has been brought down by their ego. Pulling off the incredible 2016 election would be enough to give anyone hubris.
