Venezuela and oil.
Cuba and sugar.

Put communists in charge of the Sahara and pretty soon there will be a sand shortage.

“They’ve done it. Castro, Inc. has managed to destroy Cuba’s sugar industry. This is quite an accomplishment, given the fact that 63 years ago Cuba was the world’s leading producer and exporter of sugar.”

Hell, that’s nothing. Biden did the same thing to our energy industry in less then two years!

Watch O’Biden suddenly offer to buy sugar from Cuba at 2x market price to save Communism.

As if Obama really cares about anything other than the reflection in his mirror.

Maui sure picked a lousy decade to get rid of the sugar canes and processing plant.

Maybe they can still revive that industry.

Cuba knew years ago that their sugar industry was in trouble and they knew why. The following is an excerpt from a February 2011 Havana Time article:

HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 21, 2011 — "Technological indiscipline is the principal cause for the plunge in the cultivation of sugarcane in Cuba, judging by the opinions of Ramón Romero and Miguel Pereira, presidents of Agricultural Production Cooperatives, who will attend as delegates the sixth Communist Party Congress in April, reported IPS.

Both agreed that the results are also linked to the lack of labor force's motivation. “No one is motivated if they don't earn enough to feed well their families, without good working tools, and if with their daily sweat they can't aspire to improve or build their home,” Romero noted."

Heard a writer pushing his new book about the revelations on tape from the Cuban Missile Crisis insiders.
He said JFK and Kruschev wanted to avoid all out nuclear war but the Robert Kennedy and Dean Rusk faction were disappointed because they wanted to destroy Cuba. Last words on tape were Robert Kennedy saying “I want to get Cuba.”

Spoiler: We are alive today because the nuclear war didn’t happen-——that time.
