I’d be willing to discuss this in an impromptu debate - Oz

Boy, you ain't kiddin'. I KNOW people who were there. The rally was far removed from the Capitol, and folks were gaining entrance to the Capitol before the rally was over. Also, the people I know who were at the rally reported that the FIB must've had jammers or something, because they had no cell service in the area of the rally (however, based on my experience, this could've just been overwhelmed cell towers).

From the reports I got, the people at the rally and the people at the Capitol were pretty much two different groups, so you can't lump them all together. Love to debate THAT with Festerman.

Most people have no idea that they were at least 200,000 people at the ellipse to hear President Trump speak. Most probably went to DC thinking that it might be the last time that they would get to hear Trump speak at a rally.

The people who breached the Capitol did not seem to be MAGA Trump supporters. The answer to the question “who benefits” is certainly not Trump.

Those who just walked through open doors taking selfies and pictures of the Capitol Rotunda were Trump supporters. I don’t think that many actual MAGA supporters planned to enter the Capitol. They just got caught up in the energy and enthusiasm of the day.

I’ve been to several March for Life events. There were hundreds of thousands of people at the speeches down by the ellipse, most of whom march to the Supreme Court building but no one even considered going inside.

I was nowhere near DC on Jan. 6, 2021, but what I have heard of the events matches your description.

It used to be that the right of the people peacefully to assemble was considered part of the Bill of Rights. Obviously that is a dead letter now. If a Democrat accuses you of "insurrection" you have no civil or political rights.
