A Russian court rejected Brittney Griner’s appeal of her nine-year prison sentence for drug possession on Tuesday.
The court ruled to uphold the sentence handed down to the WNBA superstar. However, in the ruling, the court stated that the time Griner will have to serve in prison will be recalculated with her time in pre-trial detention taken into account.
One day in pre-trial detention will be counted as 1.5 days in prison, which means Griner will serve around eight years in prison unless the U.S. and Russia come to an agreement on a potential prisoner swap in the future.

I suspect Trump might like to step into this matter, but I hope he doesn’t. The MSM would love nothing more than to tie him to Griner’s “vacation” in Russia.

I wonder what the Russian prison warden would charge us to play the American national anthem over the prison PA system about once a day for the length of her stay.
If Trump stepped in and got her released, the Left would use that to proclaim how big of buddies Trump and Putin were and that this proves he is colluding with Russia. Trump needs to stay out and let her/him rot.
While I am absolutely sure President Trump would bring a positive conclusion to this situation, I am also sure that he would do it by respectful and truthful Diplomacy and communication with Russia and Putin.
President Trump (and Russia/Putin), may or may not make "promises" but both would certainly make a DEAL that would be acceptable to both, and result in that better resolution of the situation.

Time served during holding was counted against her sentence. She really only has about 8 more years to serve. Family should start prepping for the release party soon.

Before he went a bit crazy, Rodman was awesome on the court.
He defended from PG to C, rebounded, and hustled like no one.
