I replace my TVs more often than I replace my smartphone, and in fact, I only replace my smartphone when it gets a cracked screen, which has been only twice in the last 8 years.
The tech for smartphones hasn’t really brought anything new that people need. It’s all phoning and text-messaging and social media and photos and videos, which can all be handled by the tech that’s been around for about 10 years now.

But it is handled much better by present technology. Ten year old screens an cameras are junk compared to today’s.
And processor speed and memory are so much better.
