Three people died and two were wounded in a shootout early Sunday at an intersection in Brighton Park, where drivers had taken over an intersection in one of several unauthorized drifting events overnight in Chicago, police said.
Police had been monitoring a “large car caravan” on surveillance video at Archer and Kedzie avenues on the Southwest Side with 100 drivers and people drifting in the intersection, Police Cmdr. Don Jerome told reporters at the scene.

The Brighton Park neighborhood was nice but started to turn over in the 80’s, went from mostly Polish to all Mexican and crime shot up.

The only thing that “traumatizes” people in Chicago are Trump’s Tweets.
History shows that it a standard feature of decent into anarchy is armed thugs positioning themselves at street and highway intersections to control access and extract payment (or “taxes”) from anyone passing through.
This funds the emergence of “warlords,” who pay off politicians and form a symbiotic relationship with the various ganglia of power, including law enforcement and emergency services.
Eventually the warlords themselves buy their way into political power.
