Tangential but perhaps explanatory re why Ukraine is being fed through a straw with a microscopic version of Lend Lease. Perhaps because a full-fledged Lend Lease is about to begin in a potential air, sea and land struggle over Taiwan, against an enemy that has spent 4x Russia’s annual military budget for decades. China’s preparation for the conquest of Taiwan may or may not succeed, but the likelihood of confrontation with the US is far greater, given that a blockade is likely to be part of the Chinese invasion toolkit. Without a US resupply effort that breaches a Chinese blockade, Taiwan is likely doomed to defeat.
They can only be certain of things until 2024.

To get Taiwan back, China might be willing to let go of those treasuries. The communist government is willing to drive economy into the ground to solidify their position.
