I don’t think Joe is necessarily lying, but in his addled brain he at the time actually believed this story. To me Joe not knowing the facts about his own son’s death shows greatly advanced dementia. Joe belongs in a memory care facility not the White House. I am certain there are discussions in the White House about what to do as Joe’s dementia is becoming so apparent that even the lying media cannot cover for him

Joe Biden does not suffer from these lies due to dementia. He has always done this. The networks featured his bizarre history of plagiarism, lying, making stuff up, back in the late 80's and early 90's. Eventually they just gave up detailing the problem. Around that time the deep state realized they could grow their power best with dumb, corrupt,compromised idiots in office over intelligent, principled leaders.

Dr. Kelly Victory was talking about FJB. She had bet a couple of steak dinners he wouldn’t last until July after he was elected. Of course, she’s lost those bets and says that what she did not realize at the time she made them, just how far the media & others (like Jill, DemonRats, etc.) would go to cover for FJB. She says he’s in an “advanced” state, probably doesn’t know which end of a fork to use. The host said ‘so we have a vegetable for a president’ .... after a bit of a silence, she answered ‘yes’. The Beau ‘lie’ (more a function of his mental state than a deliberate lie) is pretty indicative that he’s on his way to being non-functional. At some point, “they” won’t be able to prop him up any more - what happens next will be interesting. Kamala might want to hire a food taster.
