I wondered how much a box of 100 of these essentially useless face coverings cost...$9.99 for a box at Walmart.

And, not surprisingly, they have this in the disclaimer:

• Blue face mask protects wearer from dust & SOME particles
• 3 ply disposable face masks are for general purpose use ONLY
• Not tested or certified

= useless for protection against viruses. Yet, they were omnipresent in much of the nation/world, as if they were a great idea.
