Leave the employees in CA. Hire Texans. We’re full.

Houston?

Not a good place to be. There are plenty of videos of broad daylight robberies and carjackings in Houston. The recent trend is teams, including one or two with long arms.

The night videos are even worse.

Chevron, formerly Standard Oil of California, once was a major employer in downtown San Francisco.

Beginning in the 1970’s they moved to new campuses in Walnut Creek, Concord, and San Ramon California.

Now they are leaving California and with them are the very well paid employees.

Enjoy the sucking sound California.

A major loss for Californication as Chevron has been one of the most important large businesses there “forever”

Chevron originally known as the Standard Oil Company of California traces it’s history in California back to the 1870’s. This company has been very loyal to California and now after 150 years is leaving. This tells you everything you need to know about the State of California!

Also left California Telsa, CBRE Group, Hewlett Packard, Oracle, Kaiser Aluminum.

Why are companies leaving California?

I’ve pulled out notable phrases that company leaders mentioned when explaining their decision to leave California. Here are some samples to give you an idea:

Finding a place that is “easier to hire talent“
In search of a “great talent pool” (in the new city and state)
Seeking a “more sustainable place to do business“
There is an “increasing intolerance and monoculture of Silicon Valley“
Seeking “a strong economic climate with low taxes, reasonable regulations and a high-caliber workforce”
Moving for “our business needs, opportunities for cost savings, and team members”
There were “some symmetries in the way that the Bay Area works that just didn’t really work well for us”
“Arizona provided the ideal conditions of being business-friendly, offering a high quality of life at reasonable cost”
Employees can be homeowners in Texas, “which in the Bay Area is virtually impossible”
“In California, local rules could dictate how the company chooses board members, for instance”

Super good for Texas, my home state, and so long CA.

You can take Chevron out of California but you can’t take California out of Chevron. It’s corporate culture is lousy with woke politics and time wasting diversity, equity, and inclusion required commitments. I’m glad I retired before CRT and struggle sessions.

Think how much they will save just in airline flights.

At least California still has a movie industry that produces crap that no one wants to watch.

Wow. One of my first job interviews in college was with Chevron. They brought me to San Fran and put my up in the St. Francis hotel. Fanciest place I had seen at the time.

Now, they’re OUT of there.

Good for them.

“Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom of California recently blamed the mass exodus of individuals from California on former President Donald Trump’s immigration policies.”

That there is proof that Gelboy Gruesome is delusional. What a moron.

I doubt California will miss Chevron. It has employers who pay much more than what the average Chevron corporate employee makes.

As an aside, yesterday I spoke with California relatives who were absolutely effervescing about how they just made plans to relocate to Texas. They both found nice Texas jobs, they are packing and moving to temp quarters. House goes for sale in a week or so.

I've known them for decades, and I've never seen such animation and enthusiasm from them.

Native Californians both, they have colorful comments about their alleged governor, how nothing they vote for wins (for decades). They daily observe crime, dirt, homeless camps, drugs, litter, needles, mean people, crime, crime, and of course crime.

They absolutely can't wait to see California in their rear view mirror.

Not very long ago I read about a person trying to start a business in Kalifornia. He wanted to build and run one of those self storage places.

After months and months of bureaucratic insanity, he decided to try in the State of Washington. It wasn’t much better. Then, he tried in the great State of Texas. Within a few weeks he was in front of the person who would provide the go-ahead. The lady looked over his plans a bit, and he had his approvals, permits, etc. When he asked if the person wanted to take a closer look at all the plans, she stated ‘son, it’s either going to fly, or it isn’t.’ In other words, it’s up to each entrepreneur to make a go of it.

I was born and raised in California, long before it became Kalifornia. I remember Reagan as Governor, taking on the wacko protestors. When he almost won the 1976 Republican nomination, I knew he would not just retire. The 1980’s were incredible, and set the stage for so much more.

We will purge the vermin among us, and once again look to the shining city on the hill.
