Russian President Vladimir Putin came out swinging at the U.S. on Friday in an aggressive speech as he announced the annexation of four Ukrainian regions.
In a message that was already expected to be hostile, Putin further escalated threats against Ukraine and the West by saying the U.S. set a "precedent" of nuclear warfare by hitting Japan with atomic bombs during World War II.
Fears have mounted since last week when Putin said he was "not bluffing" after he warned that Moscow would use "all weapons systems available" to defend Russian territory.

Yeah, Demand destruction. The shape in that chart is the tell that it refers to typical products that are known as having elastic demand. Oil and gas have inelastic demand, which requires a different chart that’s much less “curvy” shall we say.
Govts control the vast majority of worldwide oil/gas supplies. Private companies control a very small amount. And what do govts crave? Income. They will defend energy prices.

Japan did not have atomic bombs when we used two against it, nor did Japan have the means to deliver atomic bombs to the mainland of the U.S. Is Putin, with his tough talk, forgetting that we have nuclear bombs and the means to deliver them? No. His tough talk is for domestic consumption.
