Two months ago, former President Donald Trump and the Republican establishment joined forces to elevate Tudor Dixon in Michigan’s messy GOP primary for governor, signaling a united front against Democratic incumbent Gretchen Whitmer.
But since then, national Republicans have largely abandoned Dixon, leaving her to fend for herself in a state that was supposed to be one of the party’s top targets in 2022.
Trump may be the exception. He’s scheduled to headline a Saturday rally for Dixon and other GOP candidates in the state. His visit comes at a time when Whitmer and the Democratic groups supporting her re-election are crushing Dixon and the GOP in ad spending, $16.5 million to $924,000 through Wednesday, according to AdImpact, an ad-tracking firm.
That gap could widen between now and Election Day. Through Nov. 8, Whitmer and the Democrats have reserved $24 million in ads for the Michigan governor’s race. Republicans have reserved nearly $4 million — most of it from the Republican Governors Association, which is prioritizing other states even after its co-chairs cheered Dixon’s nomination and said they “couldn’t be more excited” to support her in the general election.
Dixon’s campaign has spent just $25,000 on paid ads since the primary. Her campaign’s last finance report showed her with $523,000 on hand, compared to Whitmer’s $14 million. And the two most recent polls have shown Whitmer leading Dixon by double digits.

Watch out for lots of “slings and arrows”.
I didn’t know this about Trump. But then, I’m not paying too much attention. I get tired of constant “rallies”, especially when president. These rallies may be set up by the locals but they are always regarded as (and seem to be) Trump rallies, with the local people incidental.
So you’re saying Trump is getting all the benefit, including not even really setting it up except to make dates?
What did she say ?
Trump’s all mouth and all show but no wallet.
How do you know what Trump has sent?
Pretty easy to locate and review quarterly finance reports from the various Republican campaigns, which are required to report the sources of large donations. None of which are being made by Trump or his PAC.
I suspect MITCH’S influence in this backstabbing.
That's exactly right.
I suspect MITCH’S influence in this backstabbing.
Plenty. And plus I've helped coordinate some of the rallies in Pennsylvania and seen the campaign finances myself. Trump is of no help for campaign treasuries.
When is “We the People” going to chip in? Have you?
Anyone who votes for that witch Whitmer deserves everything they get.
I despise the Yahoo homepage. nothing but leftist crap.
Oh, so our favorite globalist cheerleader is anti-Trump, too. What a surprise.
You are right on!!! Trump pays out of his own pocket for all the rallies he brings forward!!! Go Trumpie....Ya Da Man!!!
People sit back and just think Trump will take care of anything.
The whole point of MAGA was to empower people to act on their own. Instead they think Trump is some “messiah” who is supposed to solve all the problems.
Not too surprised. The constant whining and griping on very public “rallies” says it’s all about Trump for him. And obviously it is, when there are so many absolutist followers to stroke him unquestioningly while attacking anyone who doesn’t do so.
No, he doesn't. Not a penny, except perhaps for the fuel for his plane.
The money will be there This is a psyops.
Consider this from an outraged New York Times.
“Last month, ProPublica and the New York Times broke the news that a reclusive, far-right billionaire supercharged Leo’s dark money operation with a $1.6 billion donation to a Leo front group. You heard that right, $1.6 billion into this dark money operation.
The donor’s name is Barre Seid. He is 90 years old retired has even more money and is strong conservative. The media hates him and mocks him because he is a “Jewish conservative that supports Israel.”
More than this, Woody Johnson of Johnson and Johnson travels with Trump and there are at least two other guys that have a billion to give.
The Republican is Trump’s pick. A few phone calls will fix the problem.
The man’s namne is
The man behind this new slush fund is a billionaire named Barre Seid
