Well, Karine Jean-Pierre explained that she was top of mind for Joe, that’s why he said what he said.
What’s unexplained is that, if she was top of mind for Joe, how does he apparently not know, or doesn’t remember, that she died.
Because there is no explanation, it was a blatant lie to coverup his dementia.
