I never used drugs, but I was a great fan of the early Pink Floyd albums. I’d invite my friends to listen, and (some of them) would say “that’s great stone music!”. I’d get upset and say “No, that’s great music!”… :)

You may want to delve into why you didn't need drugs to connect at that level to music from Pink Floyd. It's kind of a warning sign. No, seriously.

Who else could have? Alan Parsons was both a professional musician and a professional recording engineer. He might not have "gotten it" but he could understand what Roger Waters was hoping to get on tape.
