Diesel Powered Trucks Are Now Racist, According to California

The liberal police are yelling “racist” once again, but this time it’s about trucks.

According to the California Air Resources Board (CARB), clean air is racist.

Pollution? Racist as well.

(CARB) stated that the state is considering new regulations to ban the sale of all diesel semi-trucks by 2040 to fight climate change and to amend a history of “racist” practice.

CARB believes that the large freight trucks should be banned because the diesel emissions that are excreted from them “disproportionately affect low-income and minority communities due to racist zoning policies.”

This is yet just another example of Democrats playing the race card.

Not only that, they are ignoring the downsides to the economic loss by implementing the new rules.

"Decades of racist and classist practices, including red-lining and siting decisions, have concentrated heavy-duty vehicle and freight activities in these communities, with concomitant disproportionate pollution burdens… CARB has legal and moral obligations to lessen these burdens,” the regulators stated.

CARB also claimed that Black and Latino communities are most at harm since the trucks give off a significant amount of pollution.

“Black and Latino populations experiencing significantly greater air pollution impacts than white populations,” CARB said, adding “communities in and around ports move much of the nation’s freight, and so experience pollution on a national scale in their neighborhoods.”

The proposal would require medium and heavy-duty trucks who enter ports and rail yards to be fully electric by the year 2035, as well as state and local government vehicle fleets to go fully electric by 2027.

Diesel fumes cause health issues. As usual Minorities, women, LGBTFUBAR hardest hit. Whooda thunkit? It seems like only yesterday when Diesel was touted as a cleaner more efficient alternative to gasoline. Will the woketards go away if we declare oxygen a racist construct?

Wouldn’t it be easier to mandate that all diesel truck routes go through Hillsborough, Tiburon, Atherton, Pacific Palisades, Beverly Hills, Los Altos Hills, Belvedere, and Palo Alto?

It is about time that the race card was declined.

Wait, whut, they don’t now??

Hell, Atherton’s almost in the middle of 101. You’d think Zuckerpunk would just buy the right of way and move it east of Bayshore...

Being that the range of one of these electric trucks is 200 miles at best, how are you going to ship perishables like produce out of the Central Valley? And whatever happened to “biodiesel”?

Kalifornia is imposing emissions testing for ALL TRUCKS that travel within California, whether or not they are registered in Kalifornia.

Dave Packard wanted to house the Packard Foundation in
Los Altos . The planners said ‘no’ so he said he’d go for low income housing.

I don’t remember that story. Thanks.

BTW, the Packard Pathway off Elena in Los Altos Hills (connecting to Taffe) is a nice short walk through the hills.

Trucks don't excrete diesel emissions.

“Only vehicles more that 14,000 lbs” is a very short walk to ALL diesel vehicles.

Another reason I won’t go to that da*n state. My F350 V8 turbo-diesel would drive them nuts.

Just a suggestion to all diesel truckers, refuse to haul in California.

Exactly.

All of the trucking companies should issue a statement: all deliveries to the state of California will cease until further notice.

Have fun.
