Even if President Trump runs, there’s no guarantee he gets the nomination: There’s still a massive faction of anti-American and anti-Trump operatives in the GOP

In December of 1776, General Washington and his small army were retreating back across New York, New Jersey, and into Pennsylvania. They were hungry, cold, and so lacking in necessities that many men were barefoot in freezing temperatures.

Why were they there? Because just five and a half months earlier, the Declaration of Independence had been signed. These men believed in those self-evident truths so much, they were willing to die for them — as Nathan Hale said, his only regret was that he had “but one life to lose for his country.”

As much as we might want to, we can’t ignore the fact that there’s still a massive faction of anti-American and anti-Trump operatives cozily nestled under the cover of the Big Top of the Republican circus. This is the very reason I argue against Big Tent politics, and demand ideological purity that adheres to the Constitution — we cannot act as cowards then claim it was only in the name of civility.

We’ve got Lindsey Graham, who just introduced “pro-life” legislation, but in reality the move would codify abortion into federal law so long as the murders took place before the 15th week of the child’s life; and then there’s Laura Ingraham, who recently showed her hand when she she said:

The country I think is so exhausted. They’re exhausted by the battle, the constant battle, that they may believe that, well maybe it’s time to turn the page if we can get someone who has all Trump’s policies, who’s not Trump.

Truly, the Swamp runs deep.

I know it’s easy to set our sights on the Democrats and the left (I do it all the time), because there’s no doubt they’re given over to demonic agendas —

Baby murder isn’t limited to the psychopaths with a “D” next to their name, but is creeping into the Republican Party now too; and prominent “conservatives” continue to turn on the very man who, under tremendous pressure and persecution, faithfully served.

In this context, we must consider the reality that even if President Trump chooses to run in 2024, and despite the fact that the people would unite behind him (his rallies continue to be electric), the people aren’t the ones who select the presidential nominee — Republican Party delegates do.

We as conservatives are notorious for our flat-footed posture, stumbling backwards trying to catch ourselves as the left (both inside and outside the Republican Party) assaults us over, and over again.

How stupid can we be?

Consider that DOZENS of so-called “Republicans” have signed onto the egregiously misnamed “Respect for Marriage Act.” These are the types which won’t allow Trump to win.

Other Republicans are welcome to run against Trump, and whoever gets the largest share of the remaining 10% of the GOP will get the Runner-Up prize.

We do have primaries and that is how the delegates are selected. If Trump runs, he will win.

There is only one that could threaten such a nomination and that is DeSantis. And last I heard, he stated he ain’t running for POTUS despite the ‘Get DeSantis to run’ ‘mercials that appear on TV from time to time.

I mean who exactly want the anti-Trump operatives put up to run against Trump that actually could win that nomination? Who exactly would want to be identified and then run identified as anti-MAGA or anti-Trump and expect to garner the MAGA voting base?

Are we summer soldiers? Sunshine patriots? Now is the time to double down on resolve to restore MAGA.

Do we think DeSantis is an establishment Republican? Of course he is, but he’s the ‘clean’ kind of GOP servant.
I still think if Trump and DeSantis can work something out and run together it would be an unstoppable force steamrolling right into the white house. Trump for 4 more years and DeSantisas VP, then switch around and DeSantis President and Trump as VP? for 8? Would it be possible to do?
Just brainstorming.

I anticipate some highly charged and interesting debates before the 24 primaries. Much of it to be played out right here on FR. I'll certainly take part.

We must agree among ourselves now that once the convention has concluded we must pull together and not allow the outside forces to stoke divided factions and squash our potential win.

I, and I hope all hereabouts, will support our GOP's nom.

The alternative?

It's going taking a huge rigged primary to steal the nomination away from Trump. It would require an even bigger effort than what they did for Biden.

They oppose Trump at their own risk.

Trump is the source of change he ingnites the forces of change in the GOP if he is gone there is no hope for any meaningful change just the Fakeservatives leading us into the “World Order”.

Fakeservatives who create “emotional wedge” issues in the Karl Rove tradition as distractions from the real issues that are left undisturbed.

I am a conservative and vote Republican. I am not totally committed to Donald Trump for the Republican nomination if I consider others who are running a better choice. I will vote for Donald Trump for president if he does get the nomination. I could never vote for a Democrat nor will I set any election out. That is the way I have always done my voting.

Yeah, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

MAGA owns the party these days. Period!

Can’t wait to see his opponents and their tea party
gatherings at the same time he’s filling sports arenas.

Since when is it anti-American to look at other alternatives besides a Loudmouth who ran up the National Debt by trillions?

Perhaps he will. Some of us are tired of the political drama that is around any Trump campaign. The general election is a different story.

He is not an establishment Republican.

And establishment Republican is an RNC GOPe lackey.

Ron could run circles around them politically, and in
governance as well.

At least that’s my read on what an establishment Republican
is.

Start at the very top with @GOPChairwoman, RONNA McDANIEL (Willard Romney’s niece) and work your way down.
