Eventually, he’ll negotiate an end to the “Special Military Operation “ and withdraw Russian forces. The propaganda mills will treat it as not a loss but a win where Putin taught the West and Ukraine a lesson, etc., etc...

Aside from that, Putin isn’t stupid. He knows how to survive. After all, who could oppose him?

probably ... he can't go any further in Ukraine

however, why does everyone assume things will go back to exactly the same way they were on Feb. 22nd?

things have changed over 6 months ... including the way many see Russia

all the goodwill and trust that Russia had built up over decades is now gone, Russia is no longer seen as peaceful or reliable, but rather - just as various real conservatives, like Presidents Reagan and Trump, tried to warn over the years - as an genuine, ongoing menace that can't be trusted
