D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a public emergency over several thousand illegal aliens arriving in the nation’s capital from the southern border.

"Around 8,000 or so illegal aliens have been bused from Texas to D.C. over the last five months."

In 2019, Councilwoman Nadeau tweeted, “The District is a sanctuary city, which means our law enforcement does not cooperate with ICE. As Councilmember, I have called for an abolition of ICE and wrote DC’s law to establish a permanent immigrant legal services fund.”
