I have literally walked in that same place with my wife, at midnight.
It is a bit sketchy, noted most by the parking situation at the hotels right there, but the hotel we were in was wonderful.
Stay at the Hollis, but don’t walk outside at night. We walked back from a restaurant, but there was practically no one else on the street.
