Paul Pelosi hired a private investigator in the aftermath of his DUI crash to obtain the police report of the incident, according to documents obtained by DailyMail.com.
The 82-year-old husband of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pleaded guilty last week to driving while under the influence in the Napa Valley crash.
He was sentenced to five days in jail and three years of probation after crashing his Porsche on May 28.
Within days his legal team had taken on Dawn King, a high-profile Napa Valley investigator who charges at least $100 an hour, to help his case.
'Earlier last week, a private investigator named Dawn King arrived at our office and attempted to obtain a copy of the crash report involving Mr. Pelosi and Mr. Lopez,' wrote Captain John Blencowe, of California Highway Patrol, in a June 13 email to Napa Deputy District Attorney Aimee McLeod.
'My staff requested an authorization letter to confirm she was representing a party of interest.'

The police report is not only discoverable but must be provided to the Defense by the State.
Dawn King should be able to purchase a better wig, for Pete’s sake. At 100 bucks an hour.
Strozk P.I.
high-profile Napa Valley investigator
LOL
“Ex-FBI agent”

Well, ya do wanna hire a guy whose past experience consists of cleaning up problems for Democrats, afterall.
$100 per hour wouldn’t even get a high profile Napa plumber or gourmet ice cream delivery.
The better money was spent renting the Judge and DA.
They have to give your attorney a copy of the report.
$100 Geez...even Paul Drake charged that much PLUS expenses, in the 60's. This King guy must be really good.
Covering this up was only worth $100/hr to the Pelosis?
Hahaha, that’s what I was thinking! $100 an hour is peanuts!
Should have hired Michael Cohen, he'd do it for his rate, minimum wage.
$100 doesn’t sound like a high end investigator.
She’s ugly enough to be his mistress.
I don’t get what the big deal of this article is.
Q2: Who was the passenger (age, sex, relationship)? Did the name appear in the police report?
Q3: What injuries did the passenger/patient sustain, were they transported by EMS, did they receive any medical treatment?
Q4: Did any witness report that a passenger was in Pelosi's car or anywhere near the accident scene?
Or a dog sitter.
