I smell a conspiracy to bring down a football player on purpose.

Only a fool would waste a bullet on the Commanders.

Although an attempted mercy killing might be a possibility.

“ Two teenagers take on a professional football player for a 90K car while it’s still daylight.”

“… attempted to take Robinson Jr.’s Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat…”

What with the blood and bullet holes, maybe I can afford to get this fine vehicle now.

1st gen Valiants were known for weak suspension and ball joints. Many NYC cab companies used Bevederes and Dodge Coronets with the slant 6. They weren’t as roomy as the Checker cabs but were cheaper, got better gas mileage and just as reliable.

If he had been driving a 1975 Ford Pinto, he probably would not have been the victim of a car hijacking.

I grew up in Washington and suburbs in the 1930s and 40s. Went to Central High School (that doesn't exist anymore). It was a nice town back then. "You Can't Go Home Again."

Amazing. How is the chili? You are braver than I, today that area is more turbulent than I would be comfortable visiting. Ben and his family are a testament to what good, hardworking people can create.

It is amazing. And yes the area definitely has an unstable feel to it as it’s right o the edge of gentrified areas and not so much...an area in transition I’d say. And agree, Ben and his family are definitely a testament to many things that are all but gone.

The half smoke is delicious, I don’t recall anything special about the chili itself but it went well with the smoked sausage.

It is interesting to see how Ben’s is a cornerstone in the local black community, most of the patrons and employees are black and the photos on the wall spanning decades are mostly of black celebrities...yet Ben and his wife were not black. I’m not sure what ethnicity they are, they have an Italian look, maybe they’re Italian, not sure.
