As a former fed LEO I was assaulted several time as were all my coworkers. The only times the perps were prosecuted was if the agent was seriously injured and hospitalized.
Otherwise nothing, you were expected to scrap and win. I can say that everyone who assaulted me received an appropriate amount of justice during the arrest process.
