New FBI whistleblower claims bureau leadership slow-walked Hunter Biden investigation
Washington Examiner ^ | | August 24, 2022 09:20 AM | by Jerry Dunleavy, Justice Department Reporter

The FBI slow-walked its investigation into Hunter Biden’s laptop, including telling some bureau employees not to look at the hard drive belonging to President Joe Biden’s son, according to reported whistleblower disclosures made public by a top Senate Republican.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter to DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz on Tuesday about the new whistleblower claims, following disclosures made public last month about the bureau allegedly wrongly labeling Hunter Biden evidence as “disinformation” in 2020.

“Whistleblowers have recently contacted my office to share serious concerns about the FBI’s handling of Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Johnson told Horowitz, telling the watchdog that after the FBI obtained the laptop from a Delaware computer shop in late 2019, local FBI leadership told bureau employees that “you will not look at that Hunter Biden laptop” and that the FBI is “not going to change the outcome of the election again,” the whistleblowers said.

Johnson said the new whistleblower claims “allege that the FBI did not begin to examine the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop until after the 2020 presidential election — potentially a year after the FBI obtained the laptop in Dec. 2019.”

Johnson said that the new whistleblower allegations should spur the DOJ inspector general to action.

“It is clear to me based on numerous credible whistleblower disclosures that the FBI cannot be trusted with the handling of Hunter Biden’s laptop,” Johnson told Horowitz this week. “I call on you to immediately investigate the FBI’s handling of Hunter Biden’s laptop and begin by obtaining the history of the investigative actions taken by the FBI on Hunter Biden’s laptop which should be available on the FBI’s case management system, Sentinel."

The latest whistleblower allegations come after more emerged in July that the FBI wrongly labeled verified evidence on Biden as “disinformation."

Agents investigating President Joe Biden's son "opened an assessment which was used by an FBI headquarters team to improperly discredit negative Hunter Biden information as disinformation and caused investigative activity to cease," according to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA). Grassley revealed the claim after his office received "a significant number of protected communications from highly credible whistleblowers" about the investigation. The Republican claimed one of the communications shows "verified and verifiable derogatory information on Hunter Biden was falsely labeled as disinformation."

FBI Director Christopher Wray said he found the allegations "deeply troubling” when asked about them in early August.

Joe Biden’s campaign and its allies dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop story as a Russian disinformation operation in October 2020. Konstantinos "Gus" Dimitrelos, a cyberexpert and former Secret Service agent, conducted a review for the Washington Examiner and concluded "the data contained on the hard drive is authentic.”

Grassley and Johnson have demanded the DOJ and FBI launch a full investigation into Hunter Biden's laptop, including the revelation unearthed by the Washington Examiner that Joe Biden apparently unwittingly financed his son’s participation in an escort ring tied to Russia.

Horowitz will get right on it - of course, after Garland approves the investigation.

Sure . . .

We can see for ourselves that the Hunter laptop is full of evidence of criminal activity, that they have had it for two years and done nothing with it.

Not so much a whistleblower, more of a confirmation of the obvious.

You are correct, the Kenyanesian Usurper corrupted EVERY agency of the federal government.

The founders knew what they were doing when they specified natural born citizen, someone who could only be an American and nothing else.

Anyone born with a foreign nationality is NOT a natural born citizen.

and that the FBI is “not going to change the outcome of the election again,” the whistleblowers said.

Is this in reference to the "investigation" of Hillary Clinton right before the 2016 election? It was pretty clear then that courts and prosecutor's were beginning to line up evidence against her. The FBI jumped in, said they were investigating the allegations and a couple days later cleared her (yeah, that was a thorough investigation). The whole FBI action was an attempt to affect the election in Hillary's favor, but it still wasn't quick enough.

Johnson said that the new whistleblower allegations should spur the DOJ inspector general to action.

Maybe spur them to hunt down whistleblowers like Grand Inquisitor Torquemada hunting down heretics.

Everything You Need to Know About RICO Claims
BY WEISBERG LAW.COM
August 04, 2021

Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) is a federal law designed to combat organized crime in the United States. The law was passed in 1970 and was meant to be the “ultimate hitman” in mob prosecutions. Today, individuals or organizations can still use the RICO Act to file civil claims against racketeering activities performed as an ongoing criminal enterprise.

If your business or property suffers at the hands of a criminal organization, such as a corporation or bank, you may have a RICO claim.

Which Activities Qualify Under RICO Claims?
Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act continues to help attack organized crime in the US, although it was originally enacted to combat organized criminal groups like the Mafia. RICO can be applied in public and private civil suits against violators, and it contains broad provisions on violations regarding consumer protection, commercial fraud, bribery, official corruption, and security violations.

RICO claims often involve “a pattern of racketeering activity” that breaks either state or federal crimes such as murder, bribery, fraud, money laundering, extortion, kidnapping, and more. The criminal RICO statute provides prison terms of 20 years and severe financial penalties.

What Is Needed to Prove a RICO Claim?
Anyone can bring a civil suit if they have been injured by a RICO violation, and if they win, they will receive treble damages. To succeed on a RICO claim, a plaintiff must prove the following:

Criminal Activity: You must demonstrate that the individual or organization committed one of the RICO crimes, which include a broad range of crimes, such as blackmail and wire fraud. If you bring a claim on a fraud basis, the court will apply strict scrutiny.
Pattern of Criminal Activity: To have a successful RICO claim you must prove that there is a pattern of criminal activity – of at least two or more crimes. A pattern requires the crimes to be related in some way (or continuous), meaning it was conducted over at least a year.

Within the Statute of Limitations: The Supreme Court held that RICO has a five-year statute of limitations. Therefore, you must file a claim at least five years before discovering the criminal activity.

What Can I Recover from a RICO Claim?

If you win your RICO claim, you will be awarded treble damages, attorney fees, and litigation costs. “Treble damages” mean three times the amount of damages caused by the defendant.

I don’t get this part: “Therefore, you must file a claim at least five years before discovering the criminal activity”.

How does that work?

Anyone can bring a civil suit if they feel have been injured by a RICO violation, and if they win, they will receive treble damages.

To convict a defendant under RICO, the government must prove that the defendant engaged in two or more instances of racketeering activity and that the defendant directly invested in, maintained an interest in, or participated in a criminal enterprise affecting interstate or foreign commerce.
