NOTE THAT - before Feb. 23rd, 2022 -

- Russia was thought of as a country interested in peace; so much so, that there was even talk of disbanding NATO, since it wouldn't be needed anymore!

- Russia was thought of as a civilized country, well-behaved and respectful of its neighbors like any other in Europe

- Russia was thought of as a reliable supplier of gas; so much so that Germany could get rid of all its nuclear and coal-fired power plants!

- the Russian military was thought of as large, well-organized, and efficient - something to be feared

Just where do you get off posting this propaganda anyways?
Were you here when Russia invaded and occupied the Crimea in 2014?
Its not that long ago. I am sure you'd been born by then.
Chuckle.
Russia hasn't “lost” any reputation. And they are making more money than ever from super high natural gas, oil, fertilizer and food prices, all of which they are the world's number one or two exporters.

The transition in Europe from fossil fuels to environmentally neutral fuels using LNG as a transition is well on its way. If Russian LNG was down to 70% of March levels in June, what is it now in August, 50%? I guess running US and other foreign oil majors out of Russia, and facing sanctions means they no longer have access to needed repair parts and quality diamond drills bits. I imagine production will be even worse when winter weather hits. I guess Gazprom can reinvest in its own stock, the price must be really low now. I doubt they can buy the stuff they really need. Too bad, so sad.

“NATO is expanding. NATO defense spending going through the roof.”

Don’t you think that Uncle Stupid will pick up the major portion of the bill? Trump tried to change all that, that’s why he is not very popular in the EU. The EU wants to continue having the American taxpayer pay for their defense so that they can have the stress-free life that, we Americans, never had. Only if you put Trump back into the WH can this malpractice be corrected.

Are you telling me the EUs energy problems are related to a change from carbon fuels to green energy, and that the transformation is "well on its way"? Are you saying what's happening is positive for their people and economies?

“ What transition are you talking about? Gazprom is flush”

Face it.

I know reality can seem harsh, but we are best served by facing it.

Gazprom’s European contracts are not being renewed, and have been being awarded to other suppliers - according to the EU’s approved and publicized transition plan, away from all Russian energy supplies.

Putin did that to Russia.

Women’s bathrooms in submarines. What a great idea! Women have had millenia of experience living in constrained circumstances, they are smaller taking up less space and eating less, plenty of spare space for bathroom, and more torpedoes. Glad our military has finally Woke to such a practical idea.

“Our lives are almost totally controlled.”

That’s why I look for the windows these idiots leave open when they close doors. And they leave open windows every time. I got angry and retired a little early when Obama was elected, then my net worth doubled from taking advantage of his stupid actions. Working the same to survive Biden/Bama mania.

“ How is that winning”

America is taking as much of Russia’s former market share, as it can eat. It is a feast.

This is a long term shift. Long term contracts are signed and infrastructure is being built. Long term revenue streams like that are rare indeed.

Putin has killed the goose that laid the golden eggs for Russia - decades of effort to build that business have been squandered.

America and many others will make that money in the future, instead of Russia.

If we never lost our baby teeth, we could never grow adult teeth, and it does hurt a bit pulling them, but then there is the tooth fairy. If you are too stupid to see the long range positives of speeding the transition I feel sorry for you. Do you have any idea how bad it can get when Siberian perma frost melts. The Lena River is already exuding methane which is many times worse than CO2.

Those other suppliers were already selling product, so it’s musical chairs with nat gas. Somebody better produce a lot more and soon, it isn’t going to happen soon, it takes time and the necessary investments in pre-production haven’t been made lately, which is only step one.

Germany started down this path in 2005. I was furious and could see what was coming 17 years ago. Schroeder was SPD, the socialist party. Sad thing Dummycrat voters are as stupid as German voters were and are.

So here you are pimping for AOCs Green New Deal!

It's no wonder you've fallen behind Biden and his Green, leftist Neocons.

Insults are a poor argument. None of this “transition” is going stop what the planet is doing. Our input is too small. This planet only exists because it has been a self-correcting system for 4.5 billion years. It will continue in that fashion. It’s overcome much larger inputs than man’s many times. All we are doing is damaging the environment more and paying more for less energy output per dollar to “feel” better.

2021 was before Putin drove Russia over the cliff.

The USA has already passed Russia as the biggest exporter of natural gas.

It is no accident. Europe has explicitly decided to phase out all Russian energy imports, as fast as they can. A plan to do that was developed. It was approved and funded by the member states, and is somewhat ahead of its aggressive schedule.

The EU (including Turkey) bought 85% of Russian gas exports last year. The great bulk of that by pipeline, that can’t physically be transferred to alternate markets. Oil they can physically load onto tankers to sell or smuggle to highest bidder, but the gas sales are just lost.

Henry Hub piped natgas gas is at 9.20 per mmBtu. TTF Netherlands LNG is at 74.00 per mmBtu for December futures.

Translate your natural gas bill to about 90 cents therm using the Henry Hub price [it was around 35 cents a theem last winter].

A European consumer will be paying about $7.40 a therm this winter - so far.

Figure an average of 300 therms per month for the 4 heating months.

Your bill will go from 105 bucks a month last year [just for the Cost of Gas] to 270 bucks a month.

The European consumer will pay 2,220 bucks a month.

Now, I haven't even figured in the increase in electric bills. Most electricity in the US is produced by burning natgas.

Wait'll your long-term local supplier's contracts get re-negotiated to cover 9 buck a therm natgas...

I guess I thought stupid was kinder than troll or traitor. Probably ignorant is better, since it can be fixed. I could elaborate on the environmental issue, but for the moment i am more concerned with saving the West from Putin’s plans as taught to him by Alexander Gudin. If you are a patriotic American and care to be involved in that fight, then read about his 1997 book planning the overcoming of the West. It now appears to be Putin’s playbook, and already has had several successes.

Yep, and I feel that directly.

I own a couple of mineral rights under nat gas producing properties. I get a small share of the net production of the wells after expenses. Those checks have gone from $250 total a month to $1,220 as of the most recent payments.

LOL!

Germany can't get an LNG commitment from Qatar, because they won't sign a long-term contract with them - because the German Greenies want to get rid of "fossil fuels" before the usual 20-25 year contract lengths.

No LNG for you, Germany!!

"Halfwit" Habeck's earlier prevarications have on Qatar gone into the Circular File.
