Oregon is in a banning mood.
The City of Bend this week is considering banning pet stores from selling cats, dogs and rabbits. Oddly, there is no store in Bend that actually sells cats, dogs and rabbits, so this ban would stop any store in the future from considering it. Such a ban could have the unintended consequence of reducing oversight of known sellers, while driving up the price of private sellers in the private unregulated market.
The City of Eugene has been debating banning natural gas from being installed in most new homes being constructed. Expect energy prices to go higher.
Portland is debating banning the sale of diesel fuel in fueling stations and instead mandate that they sell diesel fuel made by vegetable oil and animal fat. Portland would be the first city in the nation to do so. Previously, Portland banned sparklers and fireworks to combat climate change.
These bans reflect that Oregon is out of ideas … and that a handful of people are obsessed with abolition and banning their way to a new paradise.
— Don’t forget last year when the politicians tried to ban bacon from hospitals and hospices.

Ban it all and close it all down ,LOL
Time for those Oreganonians to pack up the wagon and hit the Oregon trail back to New Yawk. The west is too tough for them.
When a conservative has an idea of what is best, he does it. When a libtard does, they force you to do it.
They’re there to run the city not ban and shut things down , what a backward bunch ,LOL
If you have a efficient furnace it will burn natural gas and produce CO2 and water vapor as a waste product. What they want is for the power plant to burn natural gas, turn that gas into electricity, use that electricity to generate heat. For anyone who has ran a space heater you know that producing heat from electricity is very costly and wasteful.
I have a better idea, just ban Oregon altogether.
This is what happens when there is no religious belief.
The human desire to give meaning to their lives creates “crusades” of one insane sort or another—and crusades are no fun if you can’t order everyone else to fall in line.
Any trucking company going into portland should raise their rates to reflect the banning of diesel.
No...no...no...there’s lots of fighters in Oregon...not just going to give it to the idiots.
How about we ban Commies, Marxists, and Democrats, but I repeat myself.
By doing so, we abolish almost all crime, and decrease dramatically social services costs.
Bend, get bent
Banning Diesel would be a great idea. I’m sure the gas used by their Prius’s is hauled to town with a diesel truck. Stop that too...Also grocery delivers, building supplies, Bet their fire truck are diesel as well.
The NG stuff is just insane. It is the cleanest burning fuel on the planet.
Well what about hamsters, gerbils, lizards, snakes, birds, mice, fish, ferrets...?
Animal fat? How does that help anything?
Unless they are thinking about all that human American fat...
law of unintended consequences is definitely not being thought about by liberals.
And Jails, don’t forget Jails.
So, advice, my son want’s to do the 50 by 50 where he visits all 50 states before he’s 50. Eastern Oregon is okay, right?
Secondly, the Lovely Mrs. End Times Sentinel and I HAVE to spend one night in Seattle this September. Now, understand she’s a life long South Philadelphian, I’ve been here 30 years, we KNOW how to sense danger in the urban environments better than 95% of folks (military/LEO/First responder backgrounds)...
Exactly how bad is Seattle, for folks in the area? I won’t be able to bring my EDC.
Thanks in advance,
ETS.
