I would compare Trump to Grant, in that they both trusted people who never should have been trusted.

Getting Sessions to recuse was an ops from the inside, and he got played bad. That and getting Pence to push Trump to fire Flynn.
Those two ops crippled the Trump admin early on. Never really recovered. And both ops were run by dems, with the help of R traitors.
The two ops took a whole boatload of people to pull off.

There is not a day that goes by in any stressed office that someone down the hall says some other TWOT down the hall ought to be fired.
