Manchin: Talks with Schumer on spending plan slowed by inflation concerns
NY Post ^ | July 31, 2022 | Mark Moore

Sen. Joe Manchin said that negotiations with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on the $739 billion spending bill went on for months because of concerns that the legislation would further stoke already high inflation rates.

The moderate West Virginia Democrat, whose opposition to President Biden’s $2 trillion Build Back Better Act sunk the measure in December, said he started working with Schumer on the pared down package in the spring – part of a process that was occasionally interrupted by rising inflation rates.

As pointed out on Bannon's War Room, this plan will do nothing but stoke already high inflation rates, and worse. Flame away.

The article is just bizarre. He k owns this is poison to the economy, so he’s worked for months to come up with a smaller dose? The quotes of Manchin just don’t make sense

It would make sense if you knew what largess Manchin wrangled for West Virginia.

Because it’s not about the economy. It, no doubt, is about the payoff. What bacon does Joe Manchin bring home to West Virginia? What is in the bill that will pay off his supporters? Manchin is playing both sides of the fence here. Leveraging pork while trying to appear fiscally responsible.

“The whore is still haggling over the price.”

While I’m certainly not crazy about this bill, Manchin has held-fast against court packing and killing the filibuster, and had he not done that, the Democrats would be far further in destroying the country by now (starting with House Bill 1, which legalized election fraud).

Anyway, if he is haggling, it’s possible that his office is actually opening emails from his voters.

Make no mistake. Manchin at his core is a Democrat. He makes common cause with the anti American socialists such as Schumer and his ilk. Manchin is no asset to America.

“He’s a Democrat.”

He is, and very loyal to them on judges. But since he is a Democrat it takes a lot more courage to go against the rest of the Democrats in the way he did. They smelled One-Party Rule, and he, so far, has stopped it.

This legislation is the perfect recipe for stagflation, the same thing that made Jimmy Carter a one-term President.

And it’s worth noting that McConnell held the entire GOP caucus, including RINO’s, united against it. Those who claim there is no difference between Republicans and democrats should pay attention to that.

I have to admit: you are right about that.

The mere deal to pass this is going to stoke inflation.

Is somebody going to tell Manchin that the Wharton School of Business study says that the legislation will have zero impact on inflation? I hope that happens although I don.t expect him to change his mind. Pray for Senator Sinema.
