In a few months, they will be hoping for global warming. Maybe that’s why they are pursuing these insane policies; they actually believe that winter is not coming.

Actually the USA has among the world's largest supplies of natural gas. We could export enough liquid LNG to supply all of the gas needed in Europe, and rake in billions of dollars per year.
That would be winning for America.

During their earnings call yesterday, ExxonMobil confirmed that the Groningen gas field in The Netherlands has plenty of capacity that can be tapped immediately. All that’s needed is the political will to crank up production.
It seems the EU, like the US, prefers to beg foreign enemies for energy supplies instead of using their own resources.

“They have also started to plan publicly for compulsory allocation, including rationing and prioritization among industrial users, as well as SHARING AMONG MEMBER STATES in the event there is not enough gas to supply everyone.”
This one cracks me up.
Here’s the problem with sharing, as I read this week: Methane (natural gas) is odorless, which is why it’s so dangerous in coal mines and other underground environments. France, like the US, adds an odorizer to make it ‘smell like gas’. Works fine for heating and electricity production.
The problem for Germany is that their entire industrial base that uses pure methane as feedstock, meaning without odorizer. So someone will have to come up with a way to remove the odorizers from the French (and likely most of the other EU states) if any of that gas is intended for German industries.
Another shot in the foot by the West in their quest to ‘punish’ Putin.
