Pathethic. About the only thing keeping me from rooting for the Russians now is my military service to this country during the Cold War.
But why? I was a Cold Warrior and even spent time in the USSR. Russia is not the USSR. What the West has done with respect to Ukraine since 1999 (long after the disappearance of the USSR) is mostly responsible for this mess. Personally, I’m rooting for a negotiated settlement ASAP. People here seem not to know that apart from the obvious destruction in Ukraine, the boomerang effect from the imbecilic Biden sanctions policy is destroying Europe economically. If there isn’t a radical change in European policy toward Russia, there will be riots in the fall and winter that the corrupt EU governments won’t be able to control. When heat, light, and food are in short supply, people will act. All the “wonderful diverse” immigrants will be in the forefront.
