DeSantis Overtakes Trump’s Fundraising Numbers Amid 2024 Speculation
The Washington Times ^ | 07/16/22 | Mica Soellner

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis got a boost in fundraising, succeeding former President Donald Trump‘s numbers amid speculation about who will run in 2024.

Mr. DeSantis raised $45 million in the first six months of this year, compared to Mr. Trump who raised $36 million in a 29% drop the previous half-year.

Mr. Trump‘s numbers indicate the first time in the 18 months since he left the White House that his fundraising levels fell below $50 million.

Trump spokesman Taylor Budowich defended the former president’s fundraising numbers, adding that he is making other investments in growing the ‘America First’ movement in a critical election year.

“He is not only raising money at an unparalleled pace, but he is investing in America First candidates and continuing to grow that MAGA movement into 2022 and beyond,” Mr. Budowich said.

Meanwhile, Mr. DeSantis has gotten the backing of several wealthy donors who have poured millions of dollars into his reelection campaign.

Space entrepreneur Robert Bigelow gave Mr. DeSantis a whopping $10 million, while Citadel investment firm founder Ken Griffin gifted the GOP governor $5 million.

The numbers come amid speculation on which Republicans will run in 2024.

In a recent interview with New York Magazine, Mr. Trump said he had already made up his mind on whether he is running in two years, though has yet to decide on when to announce.

“I would say my big decision will be whether I go before or after [the midterm elections,]” Mr. Trump said. “Do I go before or after? That will be my big decision.”

If DeSantis was bashed relentlessly, slandered, libeled, investigated by BS committees non stop for the past 6 years I doubt he would be raising much money either.

Zero percent chance DeSantis takes on Trump in the primary, he would never be forgiven by all the people who love Trump.

And DeSantis would be folded, spindled, and mutilated like Trump if he were to be the nominee in 2024. The dopes who think otherwise don't recall how inside the Beltway media darling and now full bladder target John McCain was treated in 2008.

I will never forget or forgive the media or the Democrats. Trump will always be admired for his stands.

DeSantis is the foil in Trump’s hand.
DeSantis, with Disney properties in his state, is doing a fine job of wrestling from Disney’s hand, and living in their mind rent free, any of the long term legal fastenings Disney wrote in the initial negotiations.

Also, you hear companies giving money to DeSantis, as a politician would, accept them.

TRUMP 2024!!

Today I could happily support DeSantis for president. If both he and Trump are in the Michigan Republican primary I would support whoever has the best chance of winning. It seems now as if Trump will get more votes, but he will also likely attract a larger opposition vote in the general election.

But if Trump’s decision is to run, I still thing it likely that DeSantis sits out ‘24.

Who is running against DeSantis this year for governor?

I guess everybody outside Florida is just assuming that DeSantis will just roll over whoever it is on account of the great job he is doing. However, it was a very close election last time and that was against a criminal and deviant candidate (Gillum) who is staring at most of the rest of his life in prison.

Because DeSantis is hard at work running for Governor of Florida and President Trump is not running for anything. Yet.
The Washington Times keeps sinking deeper into the swamp evey day.

Charlie Crist. Good lord I can’t stand Crist! He has changed party affiliations a couple times. He is out for Charlie, and Charlie only.

Big mistake if he does. MAGA for Trump and he owes loyalty, other wise he will split the ticket.

Or the Republican party that never lifted one finger to defend Trump, on the contrary we had pigs like Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney incredibly slandering him just as much as Democrats. Remember that press conference Romney had where he trashed Trump for 20 minutes?

It has been standard MSM narrative since about 1960 that however the Republicans nominate is worse than Hitler, no matter if the candidate is a total milquetoast. I can’t think of a single Republican candidate for President that the press was even neutral on, much less in favor of, in my lifetime. The press has been relentlessly pushing the country left.
