Apparently ACME was the name of the company that made the traffic lights that featured semaphore-type arms that read ‘STOP’ and ‘GO’ that were used in SoCal in the 40’s. WB cartoonists liked the name. Have no idea if ACME ever produced explosive bird seed or anvils.

I couldn't find it in their circular, but apparently they sell soup to eagles, not coyotes.

The Three Stooges used the name as a generic moniker for any business, and that, if I’m not mistaken was in the thirties.
