Shinzo Abe suspected killer Tetsuya Yamagami believed ex-PM was linked to religious group

The man accused of gunning down Shinzo Abe believed the former Japanese prime minister was linked to a religious group he blamed for breaking up his family and causing his mother’s bankruptcy, police said.

Tetsuya Yamagami, 41, told police his original intention was to attack the leader of the group — which authorities declined to name, The Guardian reported.

“My mother got wrapped up in a religious group and I resented it,” the Kyodo news agency and other media quoted him as telling police.

Japan’s longest serving prime minister was killed Friday during a campaign stop near a train station in the western city of Nara. Yamagami was arrested at the scene, wielding a homemade gun.

Initial reports said Yamagami believed Abe was tied to a “specific organization” but did not describe its religious nature. The group has not been named.

Before someone misreads me, when I write, “the Klan (and yes, other branches of free-masonry),” I do not mean that all of Free Masonry shares the hatred of the Klan. But yes, the Klan is a masonic organization whose hatred springs from parent masonic organizations. Free Masonry originally had only 3 levels, was probably much friendlier to traditional Catholicism than Pope Francis, and worked to restore Churches whether they were Catholic or Protestant. Later branches of masonry mixed in ideas from rosencrucianism (sp?), Karballah, the Knights Templar, etc., and in some cases, even Satanism. If anyone wanted to claim these branches were not authentic to masonry, I would hardly oppose that claim, except to note that this pagan filth was extremely prominent throughout America; many prominent preachers and politicians belonged to masonic organizations tainted by such literally diabolical evil, although not nearly as many as claimed by such groups in their propaganda.

I’m neutral as to whether or not the secrecy should have been killed.

I prefer the old uniforms.

I prefer the old uniforms, too, but the new ones are way better in the 100+ Texas heat. The new hats look like UN berets. 🤮

The lady across the street has had problems with her elderly mother getting sucked into donating heavily and participating with some Asian temple, here in CA. Her mother got angry and defensive when the daughter tried to intervene and stop this. This was probably a year ago. No idea what the current status is.

Hasn’t been convicted yet. Until there’s a conviction it’s ALWAYS “suspected”. Even if it’s insanely obvious.

What a LOAD OF CRAP this little commie plant operative is putting out. HE KNEW WHO HE WAS going to kill. And, he was being directed by someone in the audience stage left in front of Abe. His eyes kept focusing to his left— looking to his left while standing behind Abe and his security. This is clearly observable. He was signalled to fire. There is much to be learned by whom and for whom he did this.

Yes-— DOUBLE Bingo. The question “Qui Bono” is answered by the Chinese Communist Party, in reference the defense of Taiwan being developed as National Policy in the formerly defense only Japanese army and naval forces. Killing Abe will not stop this trend even so— not so long as Kim Jong Un continues to shoot missiles over Hokkaido.

Not sure, but I believe I read somewhere that it was Soka Gakkai. I also seem to recall that they were ‘excommunicated’ by the traditionalist Nichiren Shoshu.

“Please explain why the Chinese would want Abe rubbed out .”

Stated Japan would militarily support Taiwan if Chicoma attacked.

Unequivocal support for Taiwan.

His party is also in a coalition with the political party/lobby of a Buddhist- based religious group that leans pro-life and is on record saying that homosexuality is a mental disorder, but I don’t think it has dues or fees to belong, unless maybe to its political lobby. It doesn’t sound like it is fringe, maybe the guy is thinking of some small obscure money oriented cult.

Or maybe she simply donated to a legit group for charitable reasons or as a tithe of sorts, and he resented it because he thought she should only donate to him since he is unemployed, probably because he is judgement impaired and nuts.

so he killed someone over a group that he might not even have been in?

Not the stupidest reason to kill someone, that honor goes to the guy who killed a women claiming he thought she was the babysitter who was mean to him when he was a kid. Spoiler: She wasn't.

But as stupid reasons to kill someone it is up there.

Maybe Soku Gakkai? Or do they even require dues and such? It is an offshoot of Buddhism but it does have a political party Komeiko or something like that which was or is part of the same coalition in the Upper House as was Abe’s party. Used to be considered a cult by mainstream Japanese, but is not as controversial now, and the press no longer criticizes it. Has branches in Uruguay and Cuba, and the Russian Federation has recognized it. Tends to be humanist, leader is very secretive.

They caught flak when the released a pamphlet in which they stated that homosexuality was a mental disorder. That was a fairly recent controversy that the guy may have read about.

Do they require dues? According to disillusioned members, they PRESSURE members into donating, telling them that it will result in ‘good karma’.

And Ikeda hasn’t been seen in public in about a dozen years - so who is really running it now?

From the link:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-07-09/shinzo-abe-s-death-highlights-fringe-japan-political-party-that-criticized-him

Kurokawa had also accused Abe’s grandfather, former premier Nobusuke Kishi, of bringing the South Korean-founded Unification Church, known for its mass weddings, to Japan. And he referred to close links between Soka Gakkai, the lay Buddhist organization that backs junior ruling coalition party Komeito, and the Chinese Communist Party.

Turns out the religious group referred to was the Unification Church, the Moonies, which is only distantly related to any form of Christianity. Probably related to Abe by mere political alliance; the Unification Church is staunchly anti-Chi-Comm. (I actually read a couple of Unification Church-related publications occasionally, which are strictly news related: The Washington Times and (I can’t think of the name of the online newspaper....)
