“Trump will definitely go to the Funeral. He was Trump’s closest ally in the G7.”

He probably would have to be invited first. Whomever is in charge of organizing would have to consider political aspects of whether or not to have PDJT there.

Oh yeah. I expect a huge amount of media spin over this entire situation.

The Japanese government is smart enough to look at US poll numbers.

I don’t think they are idiots, Like ours is.

… their lives are no more important than a citizen in Chicago.

This isn’t about him as a person, it’s about him as a symbol.

It’s very unlikely he was assinated because of who he was as a person. It’s likely because he was an ex-PM.

That is exactly what Russia, China, North Korea, and this guy’s opposition would like people to think, because Abe is an advocate of “Making Japan Great” as opposed to staying purely on the defense. He has also built relationships with the Baltics, and Putin would not like that. As such, Russia and China and the Norks had a strong interest in silencing him . Japan It also may not even be a real quote since it does not actually link to the story or paper, it just claims. And for sure it is a quote out of context. I miss the early days on FR when everyone had to source their info to avoid being mocked, but the Wash ZPo lawsuit brought that to an end.

if this was done by some Chinese,or North Korean, agent

It wasn't. The killer is Japanese who has been described in media as a local who lived in the city where Abe was campaigning. His name is Tetsuya Yamagami. He is 41 years old.

So your saying that no leaders life is more important than an average Chicago gang shooting one and the same right let’s be clear on that.

So in the same logic if the Donald is taken down on the campaign trail in 2024 as he is no more worthy of thought than someone who is killed in chiraq. That is exactly what you are saying and it’s ludicrous. Abe was a solid make Japan great again kind of guy just like the Don he was worth ten thousand dundunuffins in chiraq.

What I despise is this worship of “leaders”

Where do you get that Abe was "worshipped"?

Certainly not in Japan?

World leaders, perhaps?

Abe was a good Prime Minister who would probably still be PM if his colitis was not so serious. He still carried a lot of clout in the LDP.

People could still source info. But they are too lazy.

Now, for example, it's starting a thread with the "Watch this video" suggestion. No summary of the video. Just pure hacky, click bait that is pushed by a small group of posters.

I think you should have directed your comments to the poster I was responding to. I simply said that I saw his point, not necessarily that I agreed with it. What a person is “worth” is entirely subjective. In the eyes of the deity, maybe the lowest criminal is as worthy as a saint, but in our real, everyday world, we do assign values to people. A Trump-like figure is surely worth more to most of us than a common criminal.
