Chain of custody probably unknowable by now. It could be just a bullet picked up at the scene, absent any physical evidence linking this bullet to the insides of the deceased.

It will not be THE bullet. It will turn out to be a 5.56 62-grain that the IDF uses. The bullet that killed him is probably a 7.62-39 fired from an AK-47 which is the go to weapon for the Palestinians.

Need DNA from a valid source, preferably from the exhumed by by an independent Tech. Must match traces on bullet. If not, stop right there. If a match, then provenance of bullet by metallurgy and then record of facts as to who had what firearms on seen. If any non match, it’s not evidence as to who may have fired it....
