That’s great just get points and miles to fly. How do the people in my family get more days off to use them. Family trips are planned for months. We don’t work for the government like Pete and get more holidays because a flight was canceled. The hotel isn’t giving us our money back because we don’t show up. How disconnected from real people.
I suspect it’s also the high price of fuel. To swing a flight and make money on it, the airlines are trying to make sure the planes are full so they can afford the flights. So if a plane is only partially full, the flight gets cancelled.
Then, of course, combine that with the pilot shortage due to any experimental shot requirements.

we’re going to a wedding back east but we are not chancing flight cancellations....we’re driving..it will cost money but at least we will get there, God willing.

My husband and I both had family emergencies this week. Otherwise, I would never, ever choose to travel now . It’s a mess in the airports and on the roads. Stay home if you can.
