Texas officials holding a special Senate hearing on the Uvalde elementary school mass shooting recognized how despite the 18-year-old gunman’s prior "abhorrent behavior" and animal abuse being common knowledge in the small town of just 17,000 people it was never reported to law enforcement.
During his testimony, Col. Steve McCraw, director of the Texas Department of Public Safety, also acknowledged how social media — and the lure of instant worldwide notoriety — may have motivated 18-year-old Salvador Ramos to commit the act of mass violence at Robb Elementary School on May 24.
In the aftermath of the shooting that left 19 children and two teachers dead, McCraw told the Texas Senate "Special Committee to Protect All Texans" that he has interviewed between 500 to 700 people so far as part of continuing investigations. He said one teacher told him Ramos "was the student who scared her the most" and that the suspect had begun "dressing like a mass shooter" months before.
"Out of all these interviews, how many times did they tell you he was the one they were worried about?" Texas state Sen. Paul Bettencourt, a Republican, asked McCraw.
"Several times. We had one teacher who said she was always worried about him," McCraw said. "He was the one student who scared her most. We discussed, as I mentioned earlier, last year he started dressing like a school shooter, started acting like a school shooter."
McCraw noted how the revelations from at least half a dozen individuals of Ramos’ concerning behavior happened after the shooting and were never reported to law enforcement beforehand.

McCraw said Ramos, who has no prior criminal record, was unemployed at the time of the shooting but had previously worked on and off in the fast-food industry.
I read that cops were in the school within 3 minutes but waited over an hour to take him out. Has it been determined how many of the children were murdered in the first three minutes? How many could have been saved if these cops weren’t such damnable cowards.

I contacted people that were on scene. According to what I was told the police were shot at as they tried to breech what was a reinforced door. At least one Law Enforcement Officer was shot once in the head and once in the leg trying to breech. As they were trying to breech and gun fight, they were scrambling to get better equipment. When they finally accessed the room the first couple of officers slipped and fell on the blood from the children. The shooter was attempting to hide in a closet as they made entry. They subsequently turned the perp into Swiss cheese. The children had apparently been rounded up, put in a corner and shot en mass.

Schools not dealing with problem minorities is a direct result of Obama era policy to make school discipline more “equitable,” ignoring that some racial groups act more problematically than others and need the discipline/attention. The Parkwood shooter in South Florida was another example. He was classified Hispanic, was a very well known problem, and people didn’t act because it would tend to make their numbers look bad on acting on minorities.

Today it was reported that the classroom door was never locked.
A few days ago, it was reported that the classroom door locked automatically when shut and could be unlocked only with a key from the outside. (Obviously, this is nonsense, since children and teachers would be trapped daily.)
