Give the Russians some credit. When they realized the new technologies were rendering their tanks and armored vehicles too vulnerable and ineffective in combat, they changed tactics. They remembered that the majority of causalities in WW II were the result of artillery fire. So despite their huge investment in armor, they instead identified Ukrainian strong points or concentrations using new technologies and then pulverized them with concentrated artillery and aerial bombardment. The Russians also managed to solve to some extent their logistic problems.
Wonder if our admirals and generals will appreciate the new technologies and adapt resources and tactics as the Russians have after paying such a high ,bloody price.
Nevertheless this war has shown that the Russian conventional military is not the juggernaut that the world once feared and respected. The Chinese realize this more than anyone as they gaze longingly on Russia’s Siberian treasure house and Russia’s underpopulated rich Far Eastern Pacific territories.
#36, so well said. Thank you.
