Here’s a question for you: Does this exceed the PURE STUPIDITY of inviting Sweden and Finland to join NATO without first checking with Turkey?
For me, it’s a close call.

Sweden and Finland weren’t “invited” to join NATO
they made the request to join each on their own
Why? because they finally realized that their neighbor, Russia, is a murderous invading monster that can’t be trusted

‘Pure stupidity’ was Pidor Putin sending nuclear armed warplanes into sovereign Swedish airspace (not just their ADIZ) thinking this gangster tactic would intimidate the Swedes and the Finns. Turned out it just pissed them off enough that they finally decided to join NATO.

“Russian warplanes armed equipped with nuclear weapons violated Swedish airspace, according to reports.
Two Russian planes flew over the country near Gotland, earlier this month, Swedish media have reported, in “a deliberate act of intimidation”.
On March 2, two Russian planes took off from the air base in Kaliningrad, escorted by two fighter jets.
The four jets, two Sukhoi SU 27 and two Sukhoi SU 24’s, then violated Swedish airspace over the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Gotland.”
The other result is that Sweden issued a notice to Russia that their aircraft will be considered hostile should they invade Swedish airspace in the future. That’s the diplomatic way of saying, “Trespassers will be shot”
This one act of penultimate arrogance not only put Finland and Sweden into NATO it has already resulted in NATO forces taking up positions on the barely defended Finland-Russia border. NATO forces are now just 160km from St. Petersburg and the only thing between them and a nice dinner at Restaurant Prospekt is the 220 troops of the 138th Mechanized Brigade who didn’t get sent to Ukraine.
That’s pretty much it. Pooty left the back door to Russia wide open.
Good thing NATO is there to keep an eye on it for him.
