Joe Biden is calling on seven of the top oil companies to do something to help quell surging gas prices after accusing them of intentionally exacerbating the strain on Americans' pocketbooks after the average price per gallon surpassed $5.00.

The president is sending letters Wednesday to Marathon Petroleum Corp., Valero Energy Corp., ExxonMobil, Phillips 66, Chevron, BP, and Shell to demand action on lowering gas prices at the corporate level and account for the surge.

In a letter to Exxon obtained by Axios, Biden wrote that the difference 'of more than 15% at the pump is the result of the historically high profit margins for refining oil into gasoline, diesel and other refined products.'

Or else what? He’s going to send in the military to takeover and run refineries like Roosevelt did during World War II?

Biden is standing in quicksand and he knows he created a major domestic energy crisis. The problem is, he already forgot it.

The visual provided in article tells a pretty good story. Blue state gas prices are higher than Red States. Do the oil companies have the ability to price according to which party runs the state?

They’ll cut prices, then deliver HALF as much gasoline to minimize their losses. That’ll really fix the problem. Gas lines miles long, coming right up!

So, does biden believe that $120 a barrel the oil companies are intentionally limiting the production of oil?

Biden could end the policy of withholding leases on new drilling on prime land concerning the amount of oil that can be derived because oil companies don’t want leases on land that doesn’t have alot of oil to be derived from it.

Joe, your first step to solve the problem is to CANCEL all of the Executive Orders you issued regarding oil on your 1st day in office. Those created the problem that had not existed under President Trump. And then have the various regulatory agencies reduce or eliminate all of their diktats that have prevented any new oil refineries being built since the late 1960s and kept the old ones from being modernized.

Fookin’ idjit. Gas prices were at an average of $2.25/gallon in January 2021. We’re now at an average of $5.00/gallon. That’s a 122% increase in price over 18 months. To blame oil companies as the reason for the cost increase on a 15% jump in their profit margin over the same period is bee ess.
