They have a fleet of submarines. They should declare it pirated and sink it. Who could complain if you gave notice and sank your own boat?
My first thought was that it is doomed to have an ‘accident’, submarine or otherwise.

If the Soviets want a shooting war then they should do this. And they are horribly outclassed in the Pacific when it comes to ASW. Japan, the USA, and Australia will declare open season on Soviet subs and surface combatants and that will be the end of that.
The days of anyone fearing the Soviet navy are at an end.
